Why intellectually?

Because otherwise we will adapt. Sure, in the beginning some people will die, but unless this supposed predator takes over completely from the get go, we will figure out a way to kill it or protect ourselves eventually.

You're thinking along the same lines I was. Humanity adapts. [ A hint of a smile - ] We cheat. I see a lot of ways we could die out, most of them our fault. I don't think being a food source is a likely one.

One was hunting by sonar, capturing and storing humans as food for his young.

Lovely. So they might actually be intelligent? Or do you think that was instinct? [Doesn't sound like it to her, but she's not an expert on dinosaurs. Mostly because she never tried to be.]

There was another, a seal-like mammal that shed its skin, and a shark with a grasping tongue. Three appendages.
